WHO will most benefit from this target? The target is intended for usage by hunting clients prior to heading out on safari, PH`s in Africa for the obligatory range session upon arrival of hunting clients or general rifle shooting enthusiasts who want to add pleasure to practice.
WHAT happens to the target if it gets rained on? The target has been constructed with water resistant materials, but it is not waterproof. Wipe the target down if it becomes saturated with water. When not in use I recommend that you place the target back inside the box.
WHEN was the target released on the market? The Bwana Moja Lifesize Cape Buffalo Target was released in January 2010. Bwana Moja is the Swahili name given to Marc Watts by a team of African trackers. Translated, Bwana Moja means "Mr. One Shot."
WHERE did the image on the target come from come from? An artist snapped this photograph while on safari in Eastern Africa. I selected it because of its high resolution, horn spread, broadside perspective and the look on its face.
WHY did you select a cape buffalo as your first life size target? This animal is the most widely hunted dangerous game species in Africa. Hunters should practice on this target so that the target won`t come after them. Not only will it help you with shot placement. It will help you avoid the panic and shaking of "cape fever" when you line up your rifle to take a shot at one for real in the wild.
HOW many times can you shoot it? Over and over again, hundreds of times. It takes approximately 90 shots in the vital area to punch out a large section of the target. Individual holes can be covered with thumbnail sized pieces of tape, just like a shooter would do with a paper target. Once the vital zone gets punched out, cover the shoulder area back up with a replacement patch. The target comes with three replacement targets, and more can be ordered when necessary.
HOW does the target stay up? A stand is included in the box. It`s made with metal rods and bungee cords. There are also eight plastic clips to insert on the top and bottom of the fold lines to ensure the target`s rigidity. Many customers have simply attached the target permanently to a large plywood sheet.
