Moja Shooting for Early January as Release Date for New Lifesize Buff Target

January 7th is setting up to be a big day around here, as we anticipate the arrival of the first shipment of the Bwana Moja One Shot Cape Buffalo Targets. The manufacturer has promised them perhaps even sooner. The early reviews on this product are spot on dead accurate. Many of you saw the prototype in Reno last year, and some have now seen the final product. These are just a few of the remarks.

"Absolutely brilliant idea Moja. I will order 100 of them for my store," says Bill Jenkin in Baroda, Michigan.

"It is stunning to see a target of that size. It has renewed my inspiration to practice rifle shooting," says Stephen Adkins of Danville, Illinois, a lifelong hunter of Africa and Asia.

"That looks like fun. I can't wait to shoot it!", were the words of Yani Pilatovic, a police officer in Southwestern Michigan who hunts extenisvely in Europe. The image on the target is derived from a photograph taken by Montana artist Daniel Smith. Marc has several of Dan's paintings in his trophy room, and reviewed numerous cape buffalo photos before going forward with the final selection. "The image had everything I was looking for," says Moja. "It had high resolution, detail in the vital zone heart lung area, and a wide spread." Shooters will be able to practice on it just like it is the real thing.

Sable Trail's founder preaches a lot about the mental components of shooting and believes this target will improve the success rates on buffalo shot placement. Just being able to see it-the sheer size of a buff, during practice sessions prior to going on safari will help eliminate what Moja calls "Cape Fever." That's the same psycho dilemna deer hunters refer to when they speak of "buck fever." Only cape fever is worse! Many safari goers have been stricken with it, resulting in missed shots. Visualization is essential to successful dangerous game hunting Moja insists, and with this life size target, hunters can easily visualize. That's why he calls it the, "The Best $100 Safari Insurance You can Buy."

The image has been cleanly transferred onto what's called a PPO board. It's water resistant and can best be described as the plastic version of cardboard. The target is about 1/4 of an inch thick, and folds up nicely accordion style into a five foot tall box. Unfolded it's nine feet wide! When hit, the bullet pierces the PPO board just like any paper target you shoot at now, leaving a small hole. It can be shot approximately a hundred times in the vital area before needing a replacement patch. 3 of them are included with original purchase. More replacement patches can be ordered when needed. The patch is easily placed over the matching hide lines on the target and like presto, you've got a brand new target.

The target is erected with two stands, plastic clips to guarantee target rigidity and two cords. It's all neatly packaged in the box. Hunters, who are by and large, a resourceful bunch, will also configure different ways to prop the target. Many have suggested they'll just attach it to a sheet of plywood. "That works too", says Marc, "But for convenience and packing sake we had to come up with a stand that fits the box."

The great thing is that finally a life size target of an African game animal is here. Not just any species, but the most sought after dangerous game member in Africa. To pre-order call 312 226 4047 and allow 3-5 days for shipping. The product will be on display for purchase in Reno. You can take it home with you or have it shipped.
